If I unlock the telstra prepaid usb 301 can I use a Bigpond sim ..if not what usb modem can use the bigpond sim and be set to umts 850

After unlock your device will work with all provider sim cards.

Many thanks for the info,shall do an unlock before or bigpond modem dies , yet again.Have unlocke the usb 306 but it doesnt allow us to use our bigpond sim...thanks again..

Sorry but after I did the unlock ,,it won't let us use the bigpond sim...

Did you set the connection settings?
Did you try other SIM card?

You may need other connection software (not branded by provider) also.
Original software may not work with other provider sim cards.

Hi I have tried using the generic watcher software and it seems only to have problems with the Bigpond sim card..

Mean all other provider sim are working and only bigpond not?
Then maybe there is any lock from provider, not from modem side.
If modem accept more than one sim card, then it is unlocked.
