Hi.

Im living in Ireland and I have a 3Ireland Huawei E180 usb modem and sim card, but have bought a 3UK Huawei D100 Wifi router. The E180 modem works fine when connected directly to my pc but when I plug it into the d100 Wifi Router it wont work. When I look up the connection status on the D100 it states that "the usb modem is non existent".

Is there anyway of fixing this, do I need to unlock the modem or the router?

Thanks
Darran

The problem is in your router. It is customised for 1 provider and can not use other provider.

Hi, I came across your post whilst 'googling' the exact same problem. 3UK assured me this router would work in Ireland. Have you any joy in connecting via router yet, and if so how? I don't know if I can bear talking to another Indian who doesn't know any more than I do! Please help, if poss.

I have just returned fro Ireland and used my D100 an 3 USB modem.
Three seem to have changed the settings. I had to change the APN on my D100 and USB Modem from 3internet to three.co.uk.
It worked fine afte this

I have an unlocked E180 and I have had it working with both 3 and Vodafone SIMS - ie I have confirmed that it really is unlocked. The D100 Wireless Router works fine with my 3 SIM. But if I put my vodafone SIM into the E180, the D100 does not recognise the USB modem. This is also the case even after I have changed the D100's APN, User and Password settings to Vodafone's settings.

If anyone knows how to unlock the D100, do let me know!
