With unlocked modem you need to use unbranded connection software. If you use branded connection software (like 3, vodafone or other), then this software does not accept other provider sim cards. Unbranded connection software you can download here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/32
After downloading and installing it create a profile with your provider connection settings (APN, username and oters).

hi,
Go to the website of your broadband provider and find out what the APN is for prepaid or postpaid and authentication is, either CHAP or PAP and dialup number is eg *99# and enter these in the network connection settings and save settings.
you are now connected to the net

Hi
I used dc-unlocker 1.00.0283 to unlock a HUAWEI E160E with the option
"Generate Unload and Firmware codes by IMEI".
manufacturer - Huawei datacards
model - Huawei E160/E160G/E160X
application port - COM10
diagnostic port - COM11
Found modem : E160X
Model : Huawei E160/E160G/E160X
IMEI : 3*******8064
Firmware : 11.604.09.00.314
Dashboard version : Internet_Everywhere_6.1.835.23_Mac_080910.114218
Serial NR. : ---------
SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)
Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)
================================================== =================
Sending IMEI to server ... OK !
3*******8064 Firmware code = 61685087
Credits left : 0
================================================== =================
Then I try to unlock the device with the option "Read Unlock code and auto enter to modem", so I get the this message:
Unlocking, please wait ...
Server message :
Check prices at : http://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy/user_prices
Insufficient credits !
> what I'm doing wrong, where I have to enter the unlock code?

Hi,
As Arunas said, just insert a SIM card from a different provider than the one you currently use, and you will be prompted to enter the Unlock code you have received.

Hi guys
thanks, entering unlock code in "Mobile Manager" was working with another SIM card when I was asked for! :)
