Greetings, I want to unlock an E182E datacard.

I have DC-client 1.0.546, but on both Windows Vista 64 and Windows XP 32 it says:

DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0546

Detecting card :

selection :
manufacturer - Huawei modems
model - Auto detect (recommended)

card not found !

What am I doing wrong?

This is a just-delivered new datacard BTW. A new USB product id maybe?

I have a Linux machine handy if I should look up any USB info for you (lsusb) or whatever Windows hardware manager can tell me.

Greets, Fireball

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

Ah, I assumed that DC-Unlocker would interface on raw USB-level with the modem.

I got the driver for Windows from http://www.dc-files.com under Huawei - Varies - "Driver Windows (all versions)", unpacked it and executed DevSetup.exe, also ran "DevSetup.exe /install".

Then the driver installed correctly and DC-Unlocker now detects it.

Seems solved. Thanks!
