I have successfully unlocked an "Option GlobeSurfer ICON 7.2" USB modem provided by Orange and it is working smoothly without any issues. However, I haven't test it yet with other SIMs.

Here is the report from dc-unlocker after unlocking
-----------------------------------------
Found modem : GTM378
Model : GlobeSurfer ICON 7.2
IMEI : 3523XXXXXXXXXX
Firmware : 2.4.2Hd
Serial NR. : XXXXXXXX
SIM Lock status : unlocked

I have a problem in updating to the latest firmware "2.5.11Hd" provided by Option. The update software complains about unsupported device. I guess the problem is due to Model No. While AT commands and dc-unlocker report it as "GTM378", the update software detects it as "GI0201-11034" . I should mention that the Model No. written on the device is "GI0201".

Do you have any idea about this discrepancy in Model Numbers ? Has anyone been able to update this device to the latest firmware, "2.5.11Hd" ? Could it be due to customization done by Orange?

Cheers.

GI0201-11034 means the device is customized for Orange Switzerland and Orange Switzerland needs to supply you with an update program. Update programs from Option or other vendors will not work with this device.

Thank you. Unfortunately, they don't provide the last update. Furthermore, they have disabled PC/SC SIM reader on the device. I was hoping to enable this feature by Option firmware.
