I would pay to have my Huawei D100 router unlocked also. I bought it in the UK from 3UK. I tried to use it with a 3 Ireland sim in an E220 dongle in Ireland and it won't work. Hopefully someone can unlock this. I changed all the necessary settings inc APN to suit Ireland but it didn't work.

most likely is just the huawei E220 that is locked....you have check it?

Thanks for the reply. I installed the program "DC-Unlocker". It says the E220 dongle is already unlocked. Very strange.

i have the same problem trying to use e220 unlocked modem with vodafone to use router but cant seem to get it to work it looks like the software on the d100 wont let anything else connect throught it. it connects to the laptop throught wireless no problem when vodafone usb is put in the router but when the router is switched on the usb starts green light blinks 5-10 times turns blue but only flashes for 3 times then the modem looks like its off or no power going to it it sounds like just have to change something whatever it is i hope someone can help. Also there is an auz forum called whirlpool talking about these problems with the router most off them can use there d100 router with a different network i think its huawei d100 router-sharing hope it helps, at the minute i cant find a way:confused::confused:

i dont know a lot about routers but could i put a different firmware update like from a billion router into the huawei d100 router could that work or would it mess the router up:confused:

Huawei D100 works with many models of huawei modem (locked Three or unlocked, works well).
It have a firmware linux-based and check for network operator sim-card.
If you put into the modem a Sim-card of another network than "Three" it won't works.
I'm searching for this problem....:confused:

I can confirm that this is a genuine Unbrand and Unlock solution that works!

Not sure how long it will be before the software finds its way out into the public domain as its appears to be an internal service program. But if you need it quick grab it on ebay.

Hi all ....... the 3 d100 router can be unlocked, i have just done it, i have been waiting for two months now to get this done so i understand your frustration.

trust me it works fine, i have had the router working with E1550 / E156G / E160 and a K3565modem and a vodafone sim / o2 sim and t-mobile sim.... it all works great and not much messing around

I cannot get my D100 to work with a Huawei E1552 modem.
The router powers up the modem, the modem get UMTS signal, but then the router reboots.

Could any of you guys please share that update file with me?

I guess you are probably out of luck then. Which modem/USB stick are you using?

The re-flashing enabled my new Huawei E1552 (white) USB-Stick on the D100 and gave a lot more carrier APN settings even though the sub version number of the new firmware seemed lower.

Before that I had a E220 working just fine with the D100.

I'm in the same boat - 3 UK sold me a D100 and a Huawei E1550 and they don't work with each other!

Has anyone bought the unlocked firmware version from that Italian eBay seller? Would appreciate, if someone would upload it or send it to me. Afaik the D100 is being unlocked by a simple firmware update without any further changes in the memory - nothing that justifies charging € 10 for it!

Any ideas?I had the same problem and discovered the solution here (http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/Huawei%20D100). You obviously haven't restored factory defaults after updating the D100.
Open http://192.168.1.1 in your browser and enter "admin" as default password, then go to Advanced Settings | System | Restore Defaults | Restore.
Afterwards your modem will be recognized.

Where have you found version 396.11.16.06.109 22-Jul-2009? From DNA (http://www.dna.fi/Yksityisille/Matkaviestinta/dnaMokkulatuotetuki/Documents/396.11.16.06.109.zip) (a Finnish network operator)? I've just flashed that version and it works with my Bulgarian operator, but it is (slightly) branded by DNA (a purple bar on the page bottom and only a dialup profile for DNA).

Hi guys , I have downloaded the new software but when I try to open the FMC update and click on the 'check' button I get the warning message
- 'found non valid .bin file under current directory' - I press ok, and it goes away but nothing then happens and i can not proceed any further. I get this with all the versions i have tried.

Does anybody have original 3 UK firmware for D100 ???

I have problem with all other firmwares that I use on it.
I am using 3 UK with APN 3internet.

On this APN using Dongle on PC, everything works normal.
When Dongle is on router, some sites have a problem with very long url.

For example, publishing from Citiville (Facebook) to facebook wall dont work.

Of course, when I change APN to three.co.uk, everything works normal - but this is after NAT and with many restrictions.

On PC with all APNs works normal, only on Router doesn't.

You may need to unlock the router. This is described in this thread.
