Hi all

I am in the UK at present and have a contract with BT for mobile internet, they have provided me with a Huawei E180 dongle which when i examine it with the DC-Unlocker software it says it is unlocked.

Now my questions

I am going abroad for a few weeks and want to use this dongle abroad by just buying a pre-paid sim card in whatever country i am in, as this dongle says it is unlocked can i just put a sim card in?

Will the BT dashboard allow this or would i need to remove it and install a generic dashboard

If i were to remove the BT dashboard and install a generic one would this allow for multipul sim cards to be used and retain ieach sims details

If i were to remove the BT dashboard what would happen when i inserted my BT sim card, what it just work or would it require infromation from me?

Sorry for the questions, i have spent the morning trying to find any relevant information but seem to getting nowhere.

Thanks in advance

First to be sure is is unlocked, try to detect with no sim inserted. Only then will real lock status be detected.

Yes, if mdoem is unlocked, you can use it abroad with any sim card.

No, original dashboard may not allow to use other provider sim cards. You will need to use not customized. Not customized connection software you can find here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/Huawei/Not_customised_managers

You will need to create new profiles with every provider you will use connection settings (apn, username and others).

Not customized software will work with your original sim card also.
