E160 USB Modem cannot unlock?

I have an E160 USB modem which for some reason your unlocker can't or will not unlock?

Can anyone help, or can i get a refund??

I don't have an error, i scan for device...

Device is found as an E160 etc...

I enter username and password in server and all is ok there, shows me as having 15 credits...

When i go to unlock i am unable to click it because it is not highlighted?

Maybe your modem is not locked ?
Or you have left original sim inside ?

Like i said, there are no error messages!

There was question about sim card also? You take out sim card from modem ???

Modem with out sim
Attach to PC
Enter passwords to server tab, press check Login
Press detect
And unlock button must active.

If i leave a sim in the usb modem i get read error on the sim lock, if i take out the sim the software reads the modem as locked.

I unistalled the software an re installed it and now the unlock button is highlighted but when i click it the programme ceashes, i have windows vista on my desktop?

Also if crashes, there can be that software try access to busy modem, close all software what can take modem control (like O2 manager and etc)
And maybe you have Windows XP ?

Ok i am going round in circles, if i connect the usb modem to my desktop with no sim card in it clearly states it's locked but if i connect it with a sim card inserted i get a sim lock read error. I get the error regardless if it's the supplied 02 sim card or a sim card from any other uk network?

If i try and unlock it with a sim card inserted then the unlock button is no highlighted however if i remove the sim card and try again i am able to click the unlock function but dc unlocker just freezes.

I have tried it with both the 02 dashboard installed and active/deactive as well as with it uninsalled.

My netbook runs linux so i have been unable to install the dc unlocker software on that, as pointed out earlier my desktop is running vista i don't have xp.

02 said i have 50 days to return this device, i may do that cause 02 mobile broadband is rubbish and i wanted to use t-mobile, the dongle is £50 on t-mobile where i only paid £25 for the same dongle on 02.

Now i look to server side ..... and surprise ... There no any request from your side. There means you newer press check login, there no any request from client software about unlock . Sorry was one (only one) check login before first your post.

Now possible reasons :

1. You try unlock modem that is at same time connected to internet.
2. You have firewall blocked dc-unlocker and client software freezes at connecting to server, because blocked.
3. You go circles because you plan return modem to O2 and not want unlock. If this case no need go this way (that cannot unlock) , but simple tell that need refund, because credits is not needed and in few hours you will have refund.

Not at all, i will only return it if i cannot unlock it. I have used it now to test it worked in case my dongle was faulty so i may not be able to return it now! I got the dongle on 02 pay go cause i guessed at £25 plus the £15 unlocking fee it worked out £10 cheaper than getting the T-Mobile one plus i would have an unlocked dongle which may come in handy for future use.

If i can get this unlocked then i will be happy. I just cannot understand what i am doing wrong, ohh and with regards to you saying i only logged in to the server once is incorrect i have logged in several times and it shows i have 15 creds available each time?

Hi...great!!!...never I've see all this problem!!!
First of all connect from another network out of modem that be unlocked.
Second, check if the modem is correctly detected from o.s. via dc-unl. autodetect.
Third you have hardware-firewall in home???...please remove it!!
Fourth unlock it (in 3 seconds but must have credit inside!)
For experience this work in Vista an XP, but suggest you XP because is more stable than Uista.

Well i took my dongle back to the 02 shop and they would not refund as i have used it, i told them it was faulty bla bla bla so they exchanged the dongle so i will try and unlock it later as i have to pop out!

Ok i have tried unlocking the new dongle but my problem has slightly changed, i now get a read error on th sim lock everytime i autodetect the dongle?

I have tried it with the 02 sim inserted as well as with the t-mobile sim i want to use. I am also getting the error with no sim inserted??

Is it possible 02 have altered these to prevent unlocking or something cause i'm stuck with using 02 broadband for now and im only getting gprs speeds most of the time cause their 3G coverag sucks! :mad:

The password you sent me via pm is the same as the one in my email and the one i tried to use but i am now unable to login as i get the error shown in the pic. :confused:

I will be connecting my dongle later in debug mode as requested, I have also seen a reply on 3G forum where links were provided for generic software just in case the 02 dashboard is locked to 02.

I will try the software first, failing that i will go the debug route, ohh and if it turns out the software was the problem or that the dongle is already unlocked you can keep the money i wil just be happy to get this thing working on t-mobile.

Just a brief update, i have flashed my device with new software and i have removed all 02 software from my pc and have re-connected the dongle and installed the unbranded software and after some hassle of it not detecting the device i have finally got it working.

I have put the dongle in and connected to server so you should have that debug information you wanted. i am in the process of installing the t-mobile profile on the new software and i will see what happens.

I finally managed to get my dongle working with T-Mobile, I had to flash my device with new firmware/software and it sorted out all my problems thank god! :D

Why nobody posted that useful information here is beyond me, maybe if people actually decided to help me instead of calling me a liar over and over this could have been sorted a long time ago! :rolleyes:

I was under the impression I had to use the dc unlocking software to unlock my dongle and in the process unbranded software replaced the built in firmware/software, I googled for days looking for generic software for the E160 but found nothing and huawei will not release it to the general public! :mad:

WHY IS THERE NO USER INSTRUCTIONS/USER GUIDE PROVIDED WITH SOFTWARE?

I don’t want to offend or sound nasty, but I strongly recommend you offer better support in future and if you have trouble understanding what people are saying when posts or emails are written in English then you should look at getting someone who can understand and this type of problem could be avoided in the future. Just because someone presses a wrong button or does not understand the process because no guide or instructions are given does not make them a liar! :rolleyes:

I am a man of my word and you can keep the money, but I will not be recommending your service because the support and rude emails I have received are just damn right out of order, you have not offered me any real support other than to try a different sim or check firewall and when I ask you what ports I need to check you send me an email saying I am technical minded so I should know which was no help at all!!!

Either way i am just glad i got it sorted now so i will say no more!

Yes, i call you liar !
Because you knew, that modem is unlocked after you try detecting it without the sim card. When i asked you to show what is detected, you manually modified detect status to LOCKED, and whole week you were writing here useless information how we are bad, no instructions, no support, sent bad password and etc.
In this case you have sent me to wrong way ... Generic software is on our web page in download section, sure you need it after modem is unlocked !!

After searching in other forums i found amazing info ... that in other forums YOU wrote that modem is UNLOCKED. Post is few hours after you posted here "LOCKED". To hide lie, you modified your post in this forum. Attached screenshots confirming your post in other forum and screenshot what you modified here.
